About this app

BullyAlert is an app (TOTALLY FREE OF COST AND ADVERTISEMENT OF ANY KIND, ONLY FOR PUBLIC INSTAGRAM PROFILES RIGHT NOW!) for parents, guardians and well wishers to monitor their kids' online social networks and get notified when a potential cyberbullying instance takes place. The app currently supports only public instagram social network profiles. It lets the users to register and then add the social network profiles using the "Add New Profile" option. The users will have to use the exact user name to search the user profile. The app will then start monitoring the profiles added and send notifications whenever a potential cyberbullying instance takes place.

The user will have the option to either swipe on an individual notification to delete it or click on it to see the details. The details will show the list of comments and the commenters' name. The user will also have the option to give the app feedbacks about how right or wrong the notification is. The feedback will help the app to be more personalized according to the users individual tolenrance level of bullying. If the feedback step is skipped, the app will keep using the resident classifier by default that might be personalized according to the individual users' choice.

We are currently only supporting public instagram social network profile monitoring. In future, we will include other social networks as well.

This is part of a research project from University of Colorado Boulder. We have been working on Cyberbullying for the past four years and have published several papers in top tier conferences. To find out more about us, please visit: http://www.cucybersafety.org/
