About this app

Gareth Frank Bale born July 16, 1989 is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a winger for club totenham and the Wales national team. Known for his long range strike, free kicks and ability to outsmart defenders, Bale was applauded by his peers, who described him as a footballer with "incredible speed, excellent passing ability, great left foot and exceptional physical qualities ".

He started his professional career at Southampton as a left-back and distinguished himself as a free kick specialist. Bale moved to Tottenham in 2007, at a possible cost of £ 7million. During his time at Tottenham, changes in leadership and tactics saw him transform into a more aggressive player. From the 2009-2010 season, Bale became an integral part of the squad and gained international attention during the 2010-2011 Champions League. In 2011 and 2013, he was named player of the year, he was also named young player of the year, and Premier League player of the season. He was named Team Member of the Year three times in a row between 2011 and 2013.

On September 1, 2013, Bale was transferred to Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee. The press of the time had announced a transfer value of between 91 and 100 million euros.
Bale played a pivotal role in his debut season at Real Madrid, helping the club win the 2013-14 Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
He won several Champions League Cups with Real Madrid. He was also a finalist for the best player in Europe award.
Bale made his senior international debut for Wales in May 2006, becoming the youngest player to represent the nation at that time. He was Wales' top scorer.
