About this app
Squad Map enables you to create a group with your friends/family, allowing you and others to view everyone's location in the group. It also has a group chat feature, where you can communicate with everyone joined in the group.
Creating A Group:
You can create a group on the dashboard page. While creating a group, you would have options to name your group, set a password, set a destination, invite your friends to the group.
Joining A Group:
Joining a group is very easy and there are different ways through which you can join a group. Firstly you can directly join by scanning the group QR code, another way to join a group is through group invitations that you will be able to see in the app dashboard. Group invitations are sent to you whenever a user invites you to a group. Lastly, you can also join a group by entering the group id and password.
Joining A Group As:
You will be given two options when joining a group. First, as a member which when selected will share your location with others and you would be able to see all the group information. Second, as a viewer which when selected will not share your location with others and you will only be able to chat and see the details of people who have joined the group.
Privacy options:
By going to settings from your dashboard top bar. And then select the privacy option to change permissions as to what you want to share with other people when joining the group. You can disable things that you don't want to share with other people. And the things that you have disabled will only be shown to the group admin.
A couple of practical uses:
Whenever you are in a group going for a trek or to a place. A lot of times, a person or people get lost and are unable to know where other people of the group are. This app will help in tackling that situation. If every person in your group has joined the group in the app then nobody will be lost.
App also has an SOS option, that a group member can trigger if they are in trouble. Like, if they are hurt or maybe while traveling they got into an accident. Once SOS is triggered, every member of the group will receive a notification alerting them about your whereabouts.
Having a chat feature for the group will allow group members to chat with the people who have joined the group. It will also enable group members to log events like if you are stopping at a place in the middle of your journey, you can easily message in the group mentioning that.
Many times parents are worried about you whenever you are traveling with your friends. Through this app, you can send your parent a group invite and they can join your group as a viewer which will enable them to see your and your friend's location. And whenever your location is not being updated maybe because if there's any connectivity issue from your end, your parent can contact your friend through the app to get information about you.

Please do also report any bugs that you encounter while using our application through suggestions. We will do our best to fix them as quickly as possible.
