Tonight was my first night sitting down with the Astral Hoops app. I have the app for Android. I downloaded about 13 patterns to save to my doubles, I customized the colors of quite a few of those patterns. I'm very impressed with the app. It looks good, it is intuitive, it was also very fast which I wasn't expecting. Download speeds were quick, connecting to the server was quick. I think it's great that you can preview a designer pattern on the hoop before having to save it etc.

This app is hit or miss. I have a Google pixel 3a and I'm unsure if that could be what's causing me problems, but more than half the time, the hoops I have won't connect to it; the app just tells me the hoops can't be found. I also have been unsuccessful in uploading pictures to the designer without them turning 8-bit and illegible. If you guys could improve this, it'd be awesome- and including live previews of patterns within the interface would be AMAZING! And chaser/motion control too!

Does not always upload to the hoop. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get images to upload. I have yet to be able to upload an actual picture. I usually get just random colors on the hoop with no definition, sometimes even colors that aren't in the uploaded image at all. I am hoping this is just a result of the app being new but considering it is the main feature to create designs I am hoping for a resolution very soon. I have my fingers crossed but at this time am disappointed.
