It might have been due to Kufi's geometrical construction that does not confine it to strict rules. Consequently, calligraphers writing in Kufi are free to experiment in their own ways. Along with Kufi, Naskh is one of the earliest scripts used for Arabic calligraphy. It is one of the few scripts considered suitable for the Quran. Naskh is easy to read and write. These qualities have helped the script spread from the verandas of calligraphers to general populace. Naskh is written with short horizontal stems.

The best way to learn calligraphy is to master one style at a time instead of getting confused with many styles. Practice one character at a time in the selected style and watch your imagination grow with confidence and time, bringing your hobby up to a professional and commercial level.
