Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing DermRotation on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

The purpose of this app is to close the clinical practice gap by providing an efficient and effective way to teach dermatology to medical students and residents in the setting of a busy dermatology practice. Skin Lesions seen throughout your rotation can be logged clicking on the Lesion Log view on the bottom of the screen. When ready to submit your log to your clerkship director, click on the Send Log button on the bottom right of the screen. You can resend this log as you update it throughout the clerkship. The Guess feature in the bottom left can be used after seeing each patient during your rotation. By using this feature you will be able to track how well you do at identifying dermatologic lesions. A timesheet can be found, by clicking the menu in the top left corner. Clerkship directors will have access to all rotator logs and time sheets.
