About this app

After many years of catering we decided to open a vegan restaurant in our own neighborhood of South Shore. Frankly we grew tired of leaving our community everytime we wanted a healthy meal so we created the solution.

Majani provides delicious vegan cuisine to food enthusiasts and health-conscious patrons in Chicago-land by utilizing the freshest ingredients from local gardens and farms. It is why chose the name Majani; it is Swahili for “green.”

We believe every community should have healthy eating options and Majani is committed to that cause. Our belief is that strong communities need jobs and that’s why over 80% of our employees live in South Shore. Majani proudly features reclaimed and recycled building materials that add to its cozy warm atmosphere. Our unique living awning, hand crafted community table, re-purposed tin ceiling are all features that make coming to Majani feel like coming home.

Majani was created by Chef Nasya & Tsadakeeyah who have over 30 years combined experience as vegan chefs. Majani in South Shore is a dream come true, a labor of love, and a gift to the community. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
