Code Halal est une application ayant pour objectif d’aider les consommateurs à trouver les bonnes informations concernant les additifs alimentaires.

Les additifs alimentaires sont des substances qui ne sont pas utilisées normalement comme ingrédient d’une denrée alimentaire, ni normalement consommée en tant que denrée alimentaire.

Les additifs alimentaires sont ajoutés à un moment quelconque de la transformation, la fabrication, la préparation, le traitement le conditionnement ou encore l’emballage.
Pour les musulmans l’ajout de ces additifs peut dans certains cas entraîner des problèmes dans la mesure où certains d’entre eux sont issus d’animaux (comprenant le porc), d’insectes ou encore d’alcool.

La consommation de produits alimentaires utilisant ces types d’additifs alimentaires est donc à proscrire. On considère par exemple des additifs tels que les émulsifiants comme douteux, car ils peuvent avoir une origine animale.

La fonction principale de l’application permet à l’utilisateur de rechercher le statut d’un additif alimentaire en saisissant son code son nom dans notre base de données.
