Kgatleng Community Media also known as Kgatleng FM is Moses Kotane Local Municipality Regional Community Radio Station. Kgatleng FM is a legal entity registered as non-profit organization as per Act 1997 section 13, of Department of Social Development. We are licensed under the Broadcasting Act with ICASA. The Medium is aimed at being a community tool for gathering, informing and disseminating information, encouraging maximum community participation to improve the lives of our communities.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create a platform upon which the Moruleng and surrounding community members can always get up to date information and insight into the general affairs within the district and beyond. Our sole objective is to be a driving force behind the aspiration of best representing the District as a viable economic partner, with which various global investors would structure a strategic alliance underpinned with mutual benefits for all.

OUR MISSION

We aim to position Moses Kotane Local Municipality as a central hub of credible and accurate information with the objective of better serving our community and potential investors. Our intent is not only limited to being the voice of the District but to also be instrumental in the transformation, growth and development of our community and that of South Africa at large.

As the station our Primary aim is to cover and promote local content and any other activities happening within our District Municipality. It will be the Station responsibilities to make sure that the communities within the jurisdiction of Moses Kotane Local District Municipality have access to information on what is happening around the Municipalities in our District as well as to utilize Kgatleng Community Radio Station in that aspects.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

In terms of the skills developments, it is upon the management of Kgatleng FM to come up with functional strategy depending on the capacity and capability of the station to train members of the public who are bonafide residents of the Moses Kotane District Municipality, who are interested and have passion to work on the broadcasting industry. We believe Kgatleng FM will formulate skills development programmes which will enhance professionalism and is in line with policies that are applicable and comply with Department of labour practice.

Skilled and unskilled labour will be considered and will undergo training so as to improve their broadcasting skill which will make them marketable on the workplace. It is our pledge at Kgatleng FM to absorb every trainee either on contractual base to permanent job placement.
