About this app

Karate (空 手 道) is a martial art from Japan. This martial art is slightly influenced by kenpō martial art. Karate was brought to Japan via Okinawa and began to flourish in the Ryukyu Islands. This martial art was first called "catch-all" which means "Chinese hand". When karate in Japan, Japanese nationalism reached its peak, then Sensei Gichin Funakoshi changed the Kanji Okinawa (tote: the Chinese hand) into the Japanese kanji being "karate" (empty hand) to make it more acceptable for the society of Japan. Karate consists of two kanji. The first is the "Kara" un and a means of emptiness "and secondly," you "手," medium "hand. Both kanji mean "empty hands" 空手 (pinyin: kongshou).
