Not ready to give away my bank account (the risk is not worth). The business model requires the bank account in order to validate the purchase. It seems Ampli wants to make sure the transactions has been completed via our bank. How can Ampli validate when I paid via credit card? It does not make sense to me. So i deactivated my account and uninstalled the app.

Doesn't pay...after 6 months I've made $1.32....they do not include normal stores that people actually can use or find!! Not worth the download at all!!! They only support stores for rich people not normal shoppers!! :( In app chat has no response either! :(

This app has constant problems and errors that take customer service months to fix! The amount of errors make you question the safety of your information and it's risk of being hacked! They make earning cash back difficult and more effort than it's worth.

Have to relink my account every single day. Its becoming annoying. Ampli has SEVERE connection issues with Simplii financial, I've been disconnected 3 times in 1 day!

Ampli is an alright app. Compared to other cash-back apps/services I've found that I've been getting a lot more promotions that are of actual interest. Whereas other services might restrict you to a single brand, Ampli's offers are a little more open-ended in that it also gives you a choice of places to earn cash back at, say for example "spend $10 at fast food places and get $1 back" and you'll have a few qualifying options like McDonald's or Wendy's or whatnot. The Android version of the app works generally well but you'll occasionally encounter an inexplicable "something went wrong" prompt out of nowhere, even if you weren't doing anything specific beforehand to cause it (sometimes, simply opening the app may make it appear), though every time that's happened I've generally been able to wave it away without much fuss at all. One slight inconvenience that I have is with the way you connect your cards, and that's to hand your 16 digits and your online banking password over (plus a 2FA token if enabled). Now in Ampli's case, one of the main mitigating factors is that you're at least handing it to one of the "big 5" banks (that being RBC), and even then RBC is letting Thawte handle it on their behalf instead. But does it absolutely have to be this way for every bank where more secure alternatives are available? For example, with CIBC and Paymi, what Paymi does is it gets you to sign in through an OAuth flow by taking you to the CIBC app or website to log in through CIBC, grant Paymi permissions, and then send you back to Paymi and then you're on your way and it starts doing its thing. The other annoyance that I have, and this might be CIBC specific or it might not be, is that oftentimes I have to log in again just to get new transactions to sync. Aside from that though, it does what it says on the tin: cash back in your pocket. Or a sweepstakes entry, if that's more your thing.

nice signing bonus - don't shop often but can add up if no minimum purchase required
