Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Track and Follow on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

I love this app!!! I found a local walk on the internet, downloaded the GPX file and loaded in to the app. My friend and I then drove to the village shown on the map and used the app to follow the walk. Neither of us had done any of it before but it was really easy to follow and it was an amazing walk. Can't wait to try some more.

About this app

Track and Follow is an ad-free GPS tracking app which records your walks and gives you easy to use views of your history and statistics. It also makes it simple to follow a track you have downloaded from the internet. Never get lost again!

Download GPX files from the internet for walks (or bike rides) you want to do and load them in to Track and Follow. There are thousands of GPX files out there which you can download for free.

It will alert you when you are off track and you can monitor your progress against the track you are trying to follow with the real-time map which works without a data or internet connection. If you stray off course, it's easy to find the direction back by zooming in on the map and seeing where you are in relation to the route.

If you have an internet connection you can also track your progress against a real-time Google map and in the UK you can check your position against the Ordnance Survey map.

It makes walking and following an unfamiliar route simple and fun!

You can also export your tracks to GPX files to share with other people.

There is a small charge for Track and Follow because Google charge for the use of their geo-location API, and OS charge for their service but it is a one-off fee for lifetime use of the app and it will always remain completely ad-free.

Track and Follow does not log or share any of your information whatsoever. All data is saved to your device and your device only.
