Had this app on my last phone. Must be a new version. All I'm getting is a white screen with a pic of a bird in top right corner. Downloaded it twice.

This is perfect for the American lists in the paid version, but totally useless if you live in any other country. Why? Because they haven't allowed the bird names to be using their international or local names. Eg. If you live in America, you can find what you want easy enough, whereas in Europe, the names are slightly different and will lead to frustration and confusion. So if they are using international lists why can't they accommodate that into their paid version of this app?

About this app

The New and Upgraded Happy Birding Journal(free):

Features Include:
1 - Keep a journal of your bird sightings
2 - Enter or update a bird sighting at any time
3 - Pinpoint bird sightings on a map
4 - Sort your bird sightings by date, or alphabetically
5 - View bird sightings that others have shared
6 - Add birds to a Life List for a permanent record
7 - Back-up and restore the database
8 - Download checklists for different areas
9 - Export bird lists and checklists to a spreadsheet in .csv format

This is a powerful application for helping you track your birds from anywhere and any time using your Android device. This is not a field guide for identification but rather a way to track your birding and share your experiences with other Happy Birding Journal users.

Start typing in a name of a bird and the autocomplete will suggest bird names for you.
GPS can pinpoint your location or you can type in any location name you want to use such as a local address or anything that helps you remember where the sighting was.

You can change checklists for different locations. Say you live in a certain state and you travel to another for business or vacation. You can change the checklist to that state and sort your information to record that period of time separately. Then when you get back home, save your checklist, then simply change back to your regular checklist.

From your daily or casual list called 'My Journal' or your 'Life List', you can sort your information for any time period you choose.

Use the "Life List" feature to keep a running list of all the birds that you have seen over your lifetime.

You can save and backup your bird data to your home computer. You can use this data to restore your information to your Happy Birding Journal app if you should lose your Android device or get a new one. You can also use this information on your computer in a spreadsheet file.

This is a great tool for the beginner birder or the seasoned bird watcher.
