About this app

The Boston Celtics was formed in 1946 as one of the teams in the Basketball Association of America. The team with this green symbol was less successful in the first few years, until the Red Auerbach coach arrived. One of the famous players who joined the Celtics was Bob Cousy. In addition, he was also a rookie named Bill Russell joined in 1956. Russell later became an integral part of the success of the Boston Celtics. That year the Celtics also advanced to the final and beat another strong team in seven matches, this was the first Boston Celtics title. After the 1966 championship, Auerbach retired as a coach but remained a General Manager, which he still held until the 1980s. Russell then took over as a player-coach. But that year they lost to another strong team in the Eastern Conference Finals. The aging team then won 2 championships in 1968 and 1969. Russell retired after the 1969 season, ending a dynasty that had won 11 championships in America.
