Great app to tell patients how much weight they need to lose prior to surgery in terms they can understand. Great for physicians to assist in honest conversations with patients to minimize surgical complications.

About this app

This app uses a patient's height and weight to output how much weight must be gained or lost to reach a target BMI. For obese and underweight patients (BMI over 30 or under 20), the app will output the target weight for preset BMIs as well as the change in weight required to reach the pre-set BMIs. For obese patients, the pre-set BMIs are 35, 38, and 40, and for underweight patients it is 18.5.

This is great for busy surgeons and their APPs who need to counsel patients on weight loss prior to surgery. Currently available only in imperial units, but future updates will include metric units.
