About this app

USE THE FULL POTENTIAL
Smartphones and tablets come packed with functionality for a rich social and connected life. GEWA Connect lets you use apps* the way they were intended, without reducing the functionality. Use Facebook, your favorite web browser, or other apps on Play Store just like anyone else, while controlling your environment at the same time.

CONTROL YOUR PHYSICAL AND VIRTUAL WORLD
The GEWA Environmental Control products are being used all over the world and are known for superior reach and quality. With GEWA Connect the physical room and virtual world are merged and both can easily be controlled.

The app has an intuitive Environmental Control function that lets you control your home from your smartphone or tablet. It is easy to create different pages with remote commands, where a page can be a room, a device or anything else where you want to group remote commands together. Predefined sequences of commands and repetitions can be sent with one click.

The system is operated by any type of switch: such as button switches, sip and puff controls or any type of switches that suits your needs.

HOW DOES GEWA CONNECT WORK?
The heart of the system is the Abilia Multibox that is connected to a device, a smartphone or tablet, via Bluetooth. The GEWA Connect app is installed on the device and acts as an extra human interface that receives commands from the switches attached to the Multibox. Remote commands are also sent from the app to the powerful IR and GEWA Radio transmitter on the Multibox to control your environment.

Based on your own needs, you can choose to manage your environment with either list view or grid view.

You can easily switch between row and point scanning depending on what app and what function you are using for the moment.

EASY TO GET STARTED
With GEWA Connect you are up and running in an instant, there is no need for long installation procedures and time consuming configurations. Since you are using the standard apps provided with the smartphone or tablet you and your helper don’t need to learn any special apps.

AN ALERT FUNCTION TO KEEP YOU SAFE
To keep you safe, you will find a built-in alert function which let you call for help at any time you are in a situation where you need assistance. Just press the switch for 8 seconds to send an alert signal to a predefined receiver. The signal can be sent via IR, GEWA Radio or built-in relay output. The function is performed in the Multibox, which means that if the app for any reason is unavailable, you can still send the alert.

SUPPORTS YOU ON THE GO
Bring GEWA Connect with you and stay in control when you are on the go. You can teach the system remote control commands for places you regularly visit outside of your home. The ability to control the virtual world is of course not restricted to your home.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES API
This app uses the accessibility services API to read and draw screen content so users can interact with android system through an external switch.

SIMPLE AND SAFE MANAGEMENT
Thanks to our webservice myAbilia, all your settings are stored in a safe place. This means that if you lose your phone for some reasons, your settings are easy to download to your new phone or tablet.
