About this app

Photos are a great way to store and display precious memories, and framed photos will be more artful. That's why you need to know the basic steps to frame a photo, that photo remains protected and looked good when displayed.

1. Prepare materials. We will create an imaginary picture frame size 20x25 cm with mat 4cm wide. You need:
• 1x2 wood slats, select the type you prefer
• 0.5 cm square dowel whose colors match or contrast with the color frame precisely.
• Nail peg round (wooden pegs) diameter of 5 mm
• Miter box (box cut corners), saws, rulers elbows, meter roll
• Glue and rubber bands
• Materials to make the board, such as plywood
• Optional materials such as paint or varnish.

2. Cut the wood to the desired size. This time, let's say 1x2. The length of the inner side of the frame equal to the length of the mat. The length of the outer side will be measured automatically when you use a miter box saw. Cut the 1x2 wooden slats all you need for a frame. After that, the cutting dowel square of the same length.
• In the example here, because this 1X2 wooden slats measuring 5x2 cm, we should add 5 cm at each end to get the length of the outer side. So, the short side size is 35 cm and the long side is 40 cm

3. Glue the two parties. Glue the dowel into the wooden slats 1x2 square. Flatten the bottom to be parallel to each other.

4. Saw edges using a miter box. Use the miter box (or miter saws if you have one), cut the tip of the four wooden slats at a 45-degree. The tip of the shortest of any miter must be on the side of the dowel. Sandpaper was rough edges.
• The length of the short wooden slats is 35 cm (outer side) and 28 cm (inner side).
• The length of the wooden slats length is 40 cm (outer side) and 33 cm (inner side).

5. Create a simple pedestal. Prepare a sheet of plywood. Measure the line outside of the frame size of 35x40 cm, also inside measuring 28x33 cm. Nail small pieces of wood on the inside and outside of the frame, so the frame can be silent with a sturdy but corners can still be opened. Apply glue to the ends of the frame, then put all the frames on top of plywood (not to glue smeared into the surface).

6. Punch a hole with a drill and insert the dowel round. Use a drill and make the first hole as deep as 5 mm for the dowel. Punch a hole through all four corners of the frame. These holes should lead diagonally from the corner and penetrate to the inside. After that, apply glue to the entire surface of the dowel and plug the dowel into the hole. Remnants of glue will spill into each side. Stretch the rubber band from one side of the frame to the other side to keep him loose, then lift the top frame of plywood. Wait until the glue is dry.

7. Sandpaper lah and add the finishing touches. Press and roll the frame until all parts of the dowel into the hole, then sandpaper was until smooth. Now you can paint or varnish frame.

8. Cut glass or plastic. You can buy custom sized glass for the sides inside the frame (to fit dowel holder mounted on the square). You also can buy clear acrylic and cut it to the size required (cut side, then break). Put the plastic on a stand, then enter the mat and photos. You can add something on the back, for example with cardboard. Or you can directly drive a nail or clamp to the frame to hold the photo and glass that can not be separated.
