About this app

Men have been wearing heels since the sixteenth century, at first this started to fill in as a way to help keep their feet in the stirrups when horseback riding. Butchers were likewise known to wear them to keep their feet out of the remaining parts of the butchered creatures which they were butchering. By the mid sixteenth century men started wearing high heels not as a need, but rather as an indication of riches and stature as just the affluent could afford them around then.

By the late eighteenth century there was a pattern toward wearing lower heels. As this was the season of the Revolutionary war, a great many people wished to dodge any similarity of riches, which brought about the end of heels from the normal market for the two men and women. In the wake of the French Revolution heels moved toward becoming lower than whatever other time in the eighteenth century. All through a large portion of the 1800s, pads and shoes were the standard style for both genders, yet the heel reemerged in design amid the late 1800's, solely among women.
