About this app

GreetAR is a new art piece from The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago & Famous New Media Artist, Jeremy Bailey. This app is an experimental performance in augmented reality, exploring the potential of this new medium to disseminate performance to wider audiences.

GreetAR is presented as part of "I was Raised on the Internet," a groundbreaking survey show of the past 20 years of internet art. This app is one of nearly 100 works that explore the effect of the internet on art, and vice versa.

A virtual version, scanned with no small degree of uncanny valley creepiness, of Famous New Media Artist Jeremy Bailey will introduce you to the Museum of Contemporary Art's newest exhibition. You can watch his performance take place in front of you, whether you're at the MCA itself or in your living room.
