The bride on D day usually wears sharara which is a traditional wedding dress worn at Muslim weddings. Apart from sharara, many prefer hijab and lehnga, which are three-piece garments that have long blouses, long skirts and dupattas. The color of the wedding must be chosen carefully because many colors like black and white are considered unprofitable. Colors like green, red, blue or peach are most preferred for wedding dresses. This dress is usually very bright and shiny where heavy embroidery is done with gold thread known as zari with dapka work. The head is covered with dupatta and the sleeve blouse is usually long showing minimum skin. These days, many brides have given a modern touch to their dresses and are wearing short sleeves and blouses.
