টেবিলের অন্যপাশে বসে থাকা মানুষটা একবার ভিডিও মডিউলটার দিকে তাকালো, তারপর য়ুহার দিকে তাকালো, তাকে দেখে মনে হয় সে বুঝি এখনো বিশ্বাস করতে পারছে না যে য়ুহা তার সামনে বসে আছে।

তুমি য়ুহা?

য়ুহা মাথা নাড়ল, বলল, হ্যাঁ। আমি য়ুহা। মনে নাই আমি গত সপ্তাহে এসেছিলাম

হ্যাঁ আমার মনে আছে। মানুষটা মাথা নাড়ল, তুমি শব্দ দিয়ে কী যেন কর।

আমি শব্দশিল্পী। য়ুহা তার ছেলেমানুষী মুখটা গম্ভীর করার চেষ্টা করে বলল, তোমরা যাকে বল কবি।

কবি?

হ্যাঁ। আমি শব্দকে এমনভাবে সাজাতে পারি যে সাধারণ একটা কথা অসাধারণ হয়ে যাবে।

তাজ্জবের ব্যাপার। সামনে বসে থাকা মানুষটা তার গাল চুলকাতে চুলকাতে বলল, আমি ভেবেছিলাম এসব জিনিস উঠে গেছে। ভেবেছিলাম কোয়ান্টাম নেটওয়ার্ক দিয়ে সব করা যায়। ছবি আঁকা যায়, সংগীত তৈরি করা যায়, কবিতা লেখা যায়—

য়ুহা হা হা করে হাসল, বলল, যাবে না কেন? নিশ্চয়ই যায়। কিন্তু সেই ছবি, সেই সংগীত কিংবা সেই কবিতা হবে খুব নিম্নস্তরের। হাস্যকর, ছেলেমানুষী! খাঁটি শিল্প যদি চাও তাহলে দরকার খাঁটি মানুষ। খাঁটি কবিতা লিখতে পারে শুধু খাঁটি মানুষের খাঁটি মস্তিষ্ক। য়ুহা নিজের মাথায় টোকা দিলে বলল, আসল কবিতা লিখতে হলে দরকার আসল নিউরনের মাঝে আসল সিনান্স সংযোগ।

টেবিলের অন্যপাশে বসে থাকা মানুষটা ফেঁস করে একটা নিঃশ্বাস ফেলে বলল, তুমি মনে কিছু নিও না ছেলে, কিন্তু আমার ধারণা ছিল লেখক কবি শিল্পী এই ধরনের মানুষকে কেউ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে নেয় না। তোমার চিঠিটা দেখি সবাই খুব গুরুত্ব দিয়ে নিয়েছে। প্রাথমিক বাছাই হয়ে সেটা একেবারে তিন ধাপ উঠে গেছে। একাডেমি দেখি সাথে সাথে অনুমতি দিয়ে দিল—
