Cameras have always been a sore spot with Moto X lines. They remain in the "enough" category, which is acceptable when the overall Android camera is clear.

This may be the reason Motorola is trying extra hard with the sensor on the back of the Moto X Style. I can say it is the best camera to adorn Motorola devices to date.
