Bay Area Crime Stoppers (BACS) is one of 1,200 Crime Stoppers programs in 20 countries. Crime Stoppers programs have enjoyed great success, boasting an average conviction rate of 95% on cases solved by a tip to the program.

The BACS program is a nonprofit organization offering cash rewards of up to $2,000 to anyone furnishing anonymous information that leads to the arrest and charging of fugitives and criminals committing serious felony crimes. Information is received through a special BACS tips hotline manned by a professional call center 24/7. Each tipster is assigned a code number for the purpose of assuring anonymity.

With this new technology the user has the ability to:

• Send a video or photograph for easy tip submission.
• Find the nearest police station using GPS and receive turn-by-turn directions.
• Check the status of submitted tips.
• View BACS “Most Wanted”.
• One touch calling directly to a Crime Stoppers Representative.
• One touch email composition to submit an email tip.
• View BACS “Crime of the Week”.
• Connect with BACS Social Media Pages.
• Receive notifications about crime related incidences in your community; including AMBER Alerts.

BACS collects none of your personal information. Your tips are completely anonymous. You are provided with a unique user name and password and the app collects your “Push Message” ID so you can receive real time alerts about your submitted tips. We don’t collect any of your contact information!
