Flower arranging includes all the ways that we can arrange our fresh or dried flowers in wonderful creations that allow us to express our feelings of love, joy and care towards the ill. Because people love to arrange flowers so much, to express their creativity, they have started and joined various schools, classes, clubs and groups that teach the art of ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), and floral arrangement in general.

Arranging a flower arrangement for home is one of the most self-expressive and artistic things I have ever done. When you are working with the flowers I lose myself in complete abandon. The world goes on and you stop and are caught up by all your senses. It is a time when space, color, or size, does not matter.

There are 3 main types of flowers in any arrangement: Focal Flowers, are tall and add height and width to your arrangement. Most will have buds or flowers growing up a center stalk. Intermediate Flowers, are what give your flower arrangement it's mass (makes sense!) and these are the flowers you should begin your arrangement with, and filling flower that is flowers that fill in the spaces left by the Line and Mass flowers. They are often stems with a lot of little flowers, like Baby's Breath, and Heather, or greenery and foliage that are used to round out your flower arrangement.

Now each one of these forms need to be addressed in a certain way to make sure your flowers are kept as fresh as possible.
