Ibadah haji merupakan Rukun Islam yang kelima setelah syahadat, sholat, puasa, dan zakat. Tentu bagi yang mempunyai rezeki berlebih, menunaikan ibadah haji merupakan kenikmatan tersendiri. Namun dalam praktiknya, proses untuk menjalankan Rukun Islam kelima itu harus melalui jalan yang berliku. Maklum, setiap tahunnya ada kuota yang membatasi pendaftar haji untuk berangkat ke Tanah Suci. Pada 2019 ini, kuota jamaah haji Indonesia sekitar 204.000 orang yang dibagi untuk 34 provinsi.

Jumlah pendaftar tidak boleh melebihi jumlah kuota yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Agama tiap tahunnya. Jika ada yang sudah mendaftar namun kuota telah terpenuhi, maka akan didaftarkan untuk tahun keberangkatan selanjutnya. Mengingat jumlah kuota jemaah haji yang berubah-ubah tiap tahun, penting untuk para pendaftar mengecek nomor porsi keberangkatan. Nomor porsi haji adalah nomor urut pendaftaran yang didapatkan jemaah ketika membayar setoran awal di bank penerima setoran guna pembiayaan atau ongkos naik haji.

Ada dua cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk mengecek nomor porsi keberangkatan haji. Yang pertama, bisa melalui aplikasi di smartphone. Kemudian yang kedua bisa melalui website resmi yang disediakan oleh Kementerian Agama.
