About this app

Position Health uses geolocation on a user’s phone to detect when he or she enter an ER in real-time anywhere in the United States and alert their healthcare providers. Healthcare providers sign up to be a part of the Position Health network. Once they do, they can enroll their patients into the app. The app then queries whether a user is located within the geofence of local Emergency Rooms. If the user does enter a geofence, the user is sent an alert asking to confirm that they are in the ER. If they confirm, an alert goes out to the healthcare provider.

Position Health uses a unique database of geofences around every hospital in the United States so that, regardless of where the user is, an alert can be sent.

The goal of the app is to increase the continuity and connectivity of healthcare, such that healthcare providers who desire more touchpoints with patients at important moments in their healthcare will have that opportunity. Users get better connectivity with their healthcare providers who know them best at moments that matter.
