About this app

Coronary artery disease (CAD) screening is routinely performed in the preoperative
period of patients referred for valvular heart surgery. Invasive coronary angiography
could be avoided or used more efficiently in this population, if other non-invasive
gatekeeper tests such as myocardial perfusion imaging and coronary computed
tomography angiography were more frequently used in this setting. Therefore, to
support the adequate choice of the initial screening strategy, a reliable estimation of
the pre-test probability of obstructive CAD must be at hand.

This application is meant to provide pre-test probability estimates of obstructive
CAD in both male and female adult patients referred for valvular heart surgery,
without known CAD or previous CAD screening. It is powered by a multivariable
model derived and validated in two different cohorts of patients referred for valvular
heart surgery in two specialized heart centers. Using readily available clinical
variables it instantly calculates pre-test probability of obstructive CAD with
high accuracy. For more information please refer to the full text of the original
