This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing BMPCC4K Control on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

Nice idea, poor implementation. No aperture control, recording starts mysteriously, has focus presets but no speed control. Organization is not very good. I hope the developer keeps on it. There is promise in the app. I'll check back periodically.

About this app


  • Start/Stop a recording remotely on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and URSA Mini Pro via Bluetooth.

  • Pull focus via touchscreen on the phone (also zoom with 14-45PZ and 45-175PZ lens).

  • Store and recall up to 3 focus (and zoom) points

  • Android Wear smartwatch support to start the recording from in front of the camera

Known limitations:

  • No focus control on URSA Mini Pro (EF) - nothing we can fix in the app

  • DCI 4K and 4.6K are not offered by camera - Blackmagic is working on it

  • No way to detect via Bluetooth if the camera still supports Cinema DNG and it it supports Blackmagic Raw
