La técnica FUE (Follicular Extraction Unit) es un procedimiento de injerto capilar, poco invasivo, por el que se extraen los folículos pilosos de manera individual y se vuelven a implantar en la zona afectada Se trata de un tratamiento quirúrgico ambulatorio por lo que el postoperatorio es corto.

La técnica FUSS (Follicular Unit Strip Surgery) o también denominada técnica de extracción de tira consiste en realizar el injerto capilar a partir de una tira. También se realiza bajo anestesia local pero, a diferencia del anterior, las cicatrices son más visibles.
