AAO Hostels is built upon a simple idea – on the love for backpacking. And what better place to start than our very own India? No matter if it is culture, architecture, cuisine, terrain or people, this country in it’s vastness and diversity never fails to disappoint. A complete package in itself, the cherry on the cake would be that a lot of it is undocumented and less explored.

The last few years have seen a rapid increase in backpacking culture in the country with more and more people willing to step out of their comfort zone to embrace the road. While love for traveling is common, that larger part of the population still hesitate to travel because of very legitimate concerns but navigable like finance and safety.

It is true that traveling comes at a price and that is where AAO steps in – to make the price worth the experience you have had. Our mission is to educate people to travel responsibly and sustainably and definitely more often; expand the scope for more hostels in the country, and create a platform for the community of backpackers to connect with each other.
