1.2GB of storage space....? Really!?

This app is for tourists and not for locals who want to make the most of the coast whilst respecting the protected areas. We need an app that references all the restricted areas with gps capabilities so we know we can fish and spearfish legally, even when the signs are (very) confusing (e.g. Wedge Island sanctuary)

Why does the app want access to all my files and pictures. Will not open unless it has access to your phone. Uninstalled.

About this app

Discover Western Australia’s 17 marine parks, from Camden Sound in the Kimberley, to Walpole in the south. The app provides comprehensive information about each park, along with 72 marine wildlife species. A ‘where am I?’ function allows park users can see which marine park zone they are in and what activities they can enjoy in each area, including fishing, even when offline or out of mobile phone range.

• Search for marine parks by map or list
• Find out which activities are allowed in each park zone
• Explore interesting visitor sites and attractions in each park
• Discover which marine wildlife species are present in each park
• Link to the latest fishing rules including bag limits, minimum sizes and licenses.
• Find directions to drive to each park
• Contact park directly via the app

New features

The Commonwealth marine parks team wanted to see their 24 National Marine Parks in Western Australian waters added.

So that is exactly what we have done, along with a slew of other enhancements including:

- an updated base map with National Park boundaries,
- National Park information, activities and wildlife,
- stunning new wildlife and park photographs,
- hyperlinks to more resources like the Australian National Guidelines for Whale and Dolphin Watching 2017.
