Fantastic app and very clear, so much easier than trying to figure out what is meant when you can clearly see it

Videos are really helpful. Won't pick up really 'high functioning' ASD but still useful

Would be great if there was a secondary app to follow up with children when they're older.

should be able to select age group and not be restricted 'under 30m' as most traits are not detected until older.

Nothing more than an information gathering app. You can't look back at test to see area where risk was identified. Also doesn't allow you to do the early age test to see if childs score was similar six month earlier. In my opinion also if they were after genuine research info they would also have options to upload tests identifying mutations associated with asd and also report back on professional diagnosis later to confirm their test. Where do they get the accuracy stats without this?

Wish it was for older children as well. My son is four in July and doctors won't do anything until he's in school so this would have been helpful if the age range was higher

About this app

ASDetect enables parents and caregivers to review possible early signs of autism in their children aged younger than 2 ½ years.
With actual clinical videos of children with and without autism, each question focuses on a specific ‘social communication’ behaviour, for example, pointing, social smiling.

This award-winning app** is based on comprehensive, rigorous, world-class research conducted at the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre at La Trobe University, Australia. The research underlying this app has proven 81% -83% accurate in the early detection of autism.

Assessments take only 20-30 minutes, and parents can review their answers before submitting.

As autism and related conditions can develop over time, the app contains 3 assessments: for children aged 12, 18 and 24 months.

Our early autism detection method is the most effective technique available to professionals to monitor early signs of autism and since ASDetect launched in 2015, this method has also helped thousands of families.

About the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre (OTARC)

OTARC is Australia's first centre dedicated to autism research. It was established in 2008 at La Trobe University and its mission is to expand knowledge to enrich the lives of autistic people and their families.
