Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Optus Xtra on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Not worth the one gig . To have stupid adds on your phone

Never unlocks on the first swipe. Phone doesn't show previews of notifications now. Screen stays on after a notification and doesn't turn off (battery drain)

Unable to receive the verification code. It says it sends the code but I never receive it. Makes the entire app useless and ive lost my built up time to my next reward. 1 star until this stupid "bug"is fixed. after 4 hours the codes came through,rating changed to 5 star

I'm hating on this app so bad now I am yet to receive any data or bonus credit, for the last week it has said that I have 6 days til I get my bonus. Since you switched from the old app to this one I've had nothing but problems, what should have taken a month for me to get has taken well over that time period

Been on the app for well over a month and have not recieved any bonus data, the app is also always experiencing errors. Not worth the drama for 1gb

About this app

If you’re on an eligible Optus Prepaid plan, you can score extra data or credit every 28 days – just by hosting ads on your Android phone lock screen. Plus, you can get access to some great third party offers.

Once you’ve downloaded and signed up to Optus Xtra app, choose the types of ads you’d like to see, and they’ll automatically start appearing on your lock screen. If you like what you see, you can tap to find out more. If it’s not your thing, just swipe the arrow right to unlock your phone like normal.

If you’re on one of these plans, you’ll get an extra 1GB of data every 28 days using Optus Xtra:
- Prepaid Ultimate Plus
- My Prepaid Ultimate
- My Prepaid Ultra
- My Prepaid Ultra Plus

If you’re on one of these plans, you’ll get an extra $2 of MyCredit every 28 days of using Optus Xtra:

Not on one of these plans? It’s easy to make the switch – simply SMS “MENU” to 9999 and select option 4. Check out our Prepaid plans at www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/prepaid/plans.

Optus Xtra has a 28 day countdown, which you can see in the app, so you’ll know when your next hit of extra 1GB data or $2 MyCredit is coming your way. "One day" will be recognised in the Countdown if you are connected to the internet and swipe to unlock your phone at least once a day.

Once you qualify to receive your extra data or credit, it will take up to 24 hours for it to be credited to your account. You’ll receive an SMS confirming this. Remember, you will need to be in an active recharge to receive your extra data or credit. Otherwise, we’ll hold it for 60 days and we’ll credit your account with the extra data or credit once you recharge $10 or more.
