糸と糸、糸と針など、用途や場面に合わせた結び方があります。
ですが、悲観することはありません。ここだけの話、サビキ釣りで狙うイワシなんて、かた結びでだって釣れちゃうんです。

釣り（つり）あるいは魚釣り（さかなつり）とは、釣り針、釣り糸、釣り竿などの道具と餌や疑似餌を使って、魚介類などの生物を採捕する行為、方法のことである。

釣りをおこなう場所によってそれを細分化して、海釣り・川釣り・磯釣りなどの呼称もある。海、川、池や湖など場所ごと、そして狙う魚介類の種類などによって、様々な釣り方があるが、魚釣りにおける最も典型的な手順は、以下のようなものと言える。

①釣り針に餌やそれに類した疑似餌（ルアー、毛針など）をつけ、釣り針には釣り糸をつないでおく。釣り糸は釣り竿の先端に結びつけられる。

②魚の通りかかる場所に釣り針を垂らし、食いつくのを待つ。あるいは、集魚餌で魚を釣り針の付近におびき寄せる。

③魚が食いつくと針が口やえらに引っかかる。

④このとき、釣り糸の反対側につながれた釣り竿をうまく使って魚を手元に引き寄せ捕獲する。
