She is syncretized with Our Lady of Charity or Virgin of Caridad de Cobre, patron saint of Cuba, and Our Lady of Aparecida, the patron saint of Brazil. Oshun is regarded as a highly benevolent Goddess, and wife of Shango. She is associated with yellow, gold, and amber. Of possible interest to anyone researching or practicing Santeria, Haitian Vodou or Voudon, Cuban Vudu, Louisiana Voodoo or Hoodoo, Candomble, Umbanda or Quimbanda, Obeah, Yoruban spirituality, Afro-American religious traditions, or modern African diasporic religion.
