This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing IISc Mess Menu on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

If you are an IISc student, this app is indispensable. However, a ui revamp would be great, especially with some fixes in landscape mode when the menu list is long.

It would be good if we would be able to navigate directly to any timing without clicking multiple next( I mean like weekly calender)

About this app

This app is meant to know the mess menu at the Indian Institute of Science in advance. It allows you to plan ahead if you want to bring a guest, sign off, etc. When you open the app, it shows the next upcoming meal. This changes after the specified mess timing (when you open again). You can also manually check the other meals for any day of the week. You can set your mess and this will be remembered next time.

There is now a meet feature. The meet feature allows you to meet a random person in your mess for intellectual company during your meal. 1) Choose your mess in previous Screen. 2) Fill name, press enter. 3) In message, type meal, give identification like shirt color and press Meet! 4) Wait for your match! You cannot try more than once in 2 hours. Wait for 10 secs after 2 hours to let you press meet again. You can't cancel appointment as of now. You can minimize the app while waiting but don't close. If the other person doesn't turn up in the 5 min window, proceed with your meal. Your identity is kept completely private in the app.

Please email me if there are any mistakes in the menu displayed. They are based on the printouts stuck outside on the notice boards.

You can also share the menu items displayed with a friend. Clicking on the share button also gives an option of sharing a link to the app.
