This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Dr.Light Painting on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

The soft menu buttons are still up during the light painting period, which ruins the result. I didn't give low stars because maybe it's my phone's fault (xperia z2). Hope to have a fix though.

I can make simple text but there's no way to pause playback, and the background options don't work. Partially usable, but I'm uninstalling.

Take some trial and error to get it to work on your dslr but is great when you dial in the settings.

About this app

Important: You need a camera with sufficiently slow shutter speed :)
With Dr.Light, you can draw beautiful pictures with your camera and Android.
Before launching this app, you must set up your camera at a slow shutter speed. (Be sure your camera has a sufficiently slow shutter speed).
Next, launch Dr.Light and explore its simple, intuitive menu. Type your text, and choose your text color, two background colors, and toggle the background animation and third background.

After you select Launch, Dr.Light will display a narrow line in the middle of screen that matches your specifications. When you shoot this image with your camera, Dr.Light's magic will appear in your photos.
